Grok 3.5 and Grok 4.0: Elon Musk Prepares xAI's Most Powerful AI Yet
An Imminent Leap Forward for Grok
Grok AI continues to evolve. After the notable launch of Grok 3, Elon Musk has now announced the upcoming release of Grok 3.5 and Grok 4.0. These next versions promise major technological breakthroughs, positioning xAI as a direct rival to models like GPT-4o and Claude 3.
According to an article published on Medium by Impact Insider, Grok 3.5 is already in its final testing phase. Its launch is scheduled for June 2025. As for Grok 4.0, it could be released by the end of the year.
What Will Grok 3.5 Offer?
Grok 3.5 is built on an improved architecture with response times cut in half. It will be able to:
- Respond more contextually to complex queries
- Better integrate real-time trends from X (formerly Twitter)
- Provide more relevant recommendations instantly
- Offer more human-like and less robotic interactions
Musk stated that Grok 3.5 will outperform Grok 3 in every domain, especially in programming, logical reasoning, and long-form content generation.
What Do We Know About Grok 4.0?
Grok 4.0 is still in pre-development, but early details are promising. The model will leverage the Dojo supercomputer infrastructure from Tesla’s Gigafactory, combined with a broader network of data from X and other partner sources.
Its goal? To build a fully multimodal AI, capable of processing text, images, audio, and video simultaneously.
What’s the Strategy Behind These Releases?
xAI is pursuing a rapid iteration strategy. Unlike OpenAI, which releases a model once per year, Musk is pushing for a faster pace. His goal is to position Grok as the most real-world connected AI, deeply embedded within the X ecosystem.
Supergrok and X Premium+ subscribers are expected to gain access to the new versions upon release.
